			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Stronger golfers are better golfers.  Sound too simplistic?  In the absence of Golf-specific training (by Titleist Certified Fitness trainers like myself) and a good swing coach, weight training won&#8217;t lower your scores by itself.  However, as your golf-specific movements improve, better ball-striking will follow.  Here&#8217;s where strength pays off &#8211; added acceleration through the impact zone.  In the extreme sport of world-class Longdrive, you won&#8217;t see many of those guys who look like strangers to the gym.  I incorporate weight training during the winter months into all of my clients&#8217; programs.  Keeping flexible and mobile all at the same time.  Don&#8217;t neglect your strength!! </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Just thought I&#8217;d blow off a little steam talking about players who insist that the best use of their golf discretionary income is a new set of clubs.  Don&#8217;t get me wrong, lots of great technology out there but folks, if your body can&#8217;t make the basic, fundamental, functional movements that good ball-striking requires, you are throwing your new golf club money down the drain.  Those new clubs won&#8217;t make your upper body turn adequately, will not stop your loss of posture because you have no core strength, nor stop you from going over-the-top because your lower body has no role in your swing.  And guess what, your local swing pro can&#8217;t help you either if your body can&#8217;t do the the things he/she is asking you to do during a lesson.  Have a Titleist Fitness Professional evaluate your golf body and get some REAL bang for your golf dollar!</p>

Just because you&#8217;ve turned your shoulders doesn&#8217;t mean you&#8217;ve made the proper movement.  It&#8217;s a TORSO ROTATION.  Watch the pros.  Think of an imaginary midline running down the center of the body from the neck to the pelvis.  It&#8217;s the rotation of the entire torso and the upper spine around that imaginary line that gives you the coil and uncoil.  In golf fitness we teach the exercises necessary to make this happen.</p>
